Motion-Sensor Light Controller
Depending on the application, motion-sensing lights are commonly available in AC 110V/220V direct-drive models, as well as low-voltage industrial models operating at 5V, 24V, or 29V DC. These sensors contain special pyroelectric crystals; when the intensity of infrared radiation changes—such as when a person moves—the crystal’s temperature changes instantaneously, generating a faint voltage signal on its surface. When a person is stationary, the radiation remains stable, and the sensor produces no output. The lights do not operate during the day when there is sufficient natural light; at night, they turn on automatically when a person is detected and turn off after a delay once the person leaves.
